Subtle Pressure

This is a powerful tune. You can listen to it for free right here. But beware, it may follow you around for a while.

A very reliable source

recommended Avishai Cohen's (the trumpeter, not the bassist) new album After the Big Rain -- also featuring Lionel Loueke on guitar and vocals, Jason Lindner (keyboards), Omer Avital (bass) and Daniel Freedman (drums and percussion). And also Jason Lindner's new double live CD The Jason Lindner Big Band: Live at the Jazz Gallery. Just ordered both at Anzic Records

These CDs have arrived. The recordings on the Lindner CD (2 CD set) are not the best. It has some new versions of familiar JL tunes and some new stuff. If you're new to JL start with his earlier Live UK CD or Premonition. Need to spend more time with this one. You know how jazz can be...

Avishai's After the Big Rain is interesting. Guitarist Lionel Loueke really stands out. Like the tune African Daisy

Need to check out Ralph Alessi.

Michael Brecker - Pilgrimage

The tunes Anagram and Tumbleweed ... like rain in my brain.
